Gov. Reynolds received the Iowa DOGE Task Force final report with 45 recommendations after 180 days of study, including a merit-based pay system for teachers that offers bonuses and professional development—plus a study of a defined-contribution plan for state employees and a suggestion for municipalities over 50,000 to combine services to cut costs. Reynolds said the recommendations will be reviewed in the coming months as part of efforts to lower property taxes by reducing state government expenses.
