  • Kit Mason, a southern Iowa man, filed a lawsuit against Casey's on Aug. 28, 2023, saying that advertised discounts on alcohol were not honored in stores in Humeston and Corydon (for instance, two Four Lokos advertised for $4 cost him $7). Casey's moved the case to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa on Sept. 26, 2023, and said it will defend itself through the legal process.  Local 5

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Iowa Pork Producers Association announced the five finalists for the best breaded pork tenderloin contest yesterday—three judges will visit each finalist during National Pork Month to decide the winners based on taste, quality, and presentation. The contest, held annually since 2003, requires the pork tenderloins to be hand breaded or hand battered and served all year.  Local 5
