KCCI marked its 70th anniversary by revisiting the 1993 floods that left many without water and forced reporters to work nonstop (using helicopters and National Guard support) while Iowa communities united during the crisis.

Officials from Polk County Conservation said Easter Lake remains under a swim advisory for the second week due to elevated E. coli levels & tests on July 9 and July 16 showed the bacteria had more than doubled.

Although the beach is open today, swimmers are urged to take precautions, especially if they have health concerns.
