Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 9th of May.
Good morning, Ames.
🎓 Education
Canvas experienced a cybersecurity breach that exposed student names, emails and IDs at Des Moines metro schools and several Iowa colleges earlier this week.
Affected institutions are investigating the incident (advising caution) while cybersecurity experts work to secure data and restore full service.
Iowa State students lost access to Canvas — a critical tool for studying — from Thursday afternoon until Friday midday, disrupting study before finals that begin Monday.
Professors extended deadlines to help students recover essential materials.
