- ➤ On May 1, Iowa educators gathered at more than 70 sites, including 12 in Des Moines and a rally on the Goodrell Middle School lawn, to protest public education cuts and policy changes that they say will hurt students and schools. - ➤ The NCAA disciplined five Iowa State football support staff for placing over 6,200 bets totaling more than $100,000—each accepted a one-year show-cause order and must attend a Regional Rules Seminar if hired by another school.
