Good morning, Ames.

A couple in Norwalk won $500K on an Iowa Lottery scratch ticket purchased at a local Casey's in Cumming today (the husband calmly scanned it while the wife felt chest pain) and they plan to save the money to decide how to spend it later.

Iowa State University will upgrade Lake LaVerne later this spring with over $5 million in improvements.

The nearly 3-acre lake will be drained to remove sediment, algae and debris and to add seating, a pedestrian bridge and an outdoor amphitheater; work is expected to finish by 2028.
