- ➤ Governor Kim Reynolds ordered flags to fly at half-staff on all public buildings until sunset on the final day of interment, honoring Maj. Jeffery O'Brien from Waukee and Sgt. Declan Coady from West Des Moines who died Sunday in Kuwait (both served with the 103rd Sustainment Command). Local 5
- ➤ The Pentagon released on Wednesday the names of six soldiers killed when a drone struck a command center in Kuwait, naming Iowa’s Maj. Jeffrey O’Brien from Indianola & Sgt. Declan Coady from West Des Moines. Gov. Kim Reynolds expressed condolences as local families mourn their loss. Local 5
- ➤ Six U.S. Army Reserve service members from Iowa were killed in action in Kuwait during a U.S.-Israel operation against Iran. The fallen include 20-year-old Drake student Declan Coady from West Des Moines and Major Jeffrey O’Brien from Waukee, whose sacrifice is honored by the Pentagon. Local 5
